Dahlia Tuber Care Recommendations

Upon Receival: 

Open your package carefully. Our tubers are packed in vermiculite and have been inspected with visible eyes or growing spouts.  Please note that tubers come in all shapes and sizes. Tubers are labeled on the bag they are packaged in.

Storage:

Store tubers in a cool, dry location until you plant.  They should be covered completely with vermiculite or your choice of storage media to prevent drying out and condensation. Ensure they are not packed tightly or touching.  Keep the covered tubers in a dark place, ideally around 40-50 degrees F.  Protect them from freezing, heat, direct sunlight and excessive moisture. Check weekly the condition of your tubers.  If condensation or excessive moisture is present, vent the container and replace vermiculite with dry material.
